We know the economy is tough, we know we all struggle to make ends meet. Moose International is there with us in heart, spirit and action. Director General Airy shared that sentiment at the national convention in Tennesse when he said "I want to focus on the management
staff at Moose International – the men and women who serve in the highest level positions at the Supreme Lodge, Mooseheart, Moosehaven and Moose Charities. Because of the salary freeze I reported to you last year, many of our high-level staff are on their third year without any pay increase. Yet they give their all. We are privileged to have upper management personnel who work together as a team. You will
hear the results of their efforts to increase revenue, decrease expense, and yet continue to provide high quality service to our children, our senior members and our fraternal units." He said this only after he praised our members first.

So as you can see, we are not alone. We must all give some, or the some, mainly the children, will lose all. We are in this primarily for the children, followed by our seniors and then by our members.

I am sure some negative people may jump at the chance and cry that members are last, I offer you this. While they are listed last it is not because the are last. When you look at a skyscaper, what do you do? You look at the top first and work your way down When you get to the bottom you wonder of the strength that must exist there in order for the building to stand.

The members and lodges are our foundation and strength. Without that strong base, the building will begin to fall Without strong members our lodges will crumble and Mooseheart will fall. So you see, while we may have been last in the list we were first in the creation of this great organization.

We were first to recognize a need, first to develop a plan, first to implement, and first to succeed. We can each now be part of another first. First to revitalize our lodges, first to rekindle the true spirit on which we were formed. I look to any and all who wish to be a part of this great organzation to come by our lodge and visit.
